Laura & Tom

There’s times where things just click, the vibe is just right, the details and well thought of and the overall essence of the day is completely intertwined with the couple. These were one of those days and it would of been a shame to not give Laura and Tom their moment to discuss what made this day, their day so special to them.

How did you find the wedding planning process?

I found the planning quite stressful. If you tend to be a perfectionist - best to try to soften and remember that the day is special because of who is there. Not get over worried about the aesthetic or running flaws.

Having professional vendors, like Timothy who get back to you so quickly and is so enthusiastic and across all details makes it easier! Tim almost took the role of something that resembled more of a wedding planner than a videographer during our planning process which greatly influenced some of our decisions. I only realise now after seeing our films that Tim really dives into who we are as people to help tell our story.

What were some of your favourite wedding details and why you chose them?

Sparklers for the first dance. If you are outside this is a gorgeous touch, and involves your guests.

I loved our cake - sunset cakery eastern Suburbs.

I was lucky enough to have my close friend Holly and her partner Will, sing for our ceremony. They are magic! Top shelf live, if you can book them they have the coolest sound and vibe. It brought so much magic and love to the special moment of walking down the aisle. And signing the documents. Incorporating live music for ceremony and dance floor takes the moment to another level. We also have SSJ (Sexy Sunday Jams) for the dance floor after. They did three 45 min sets, and in between we had one of their dj take over. They are unreal and I couldn’t recommend both more. Both do incredible jams and mashups of pop/rnb hits. Their sound and style gets everyone dancing. Every single singer and musician is absolute fire.

What were your thoughts when you watched your wedding film for the first time?

It was overwhelmingly beautiful. Our wedding film is so personal and uniquely us it’s something we’ll cherish forever. Tim blends all the elements so it almost feels like your very own music video - his a creative genius.

Let’s chat about your vendors, how did they all do?

So grateful to have Tim capture our day so we can cherish and enjoy forever. So, so worth every penny. On the actual day, Tim helped us to feel comfortable, got us laughing, played music to help create a vibe whilst shooting. An absolute professional.

Sunset cakery - Trina is a dream. So sweet and lovely to work with. she is based in the Eastern Suburbs. We had red velvet and traditional organic fruit cake. So enjoyed the tasting platter too!

Jimmy Raper photography - stunning work. Very non invasive and chill. Has a real eye for beauty. We adore our photos and we’re very glad to have him on board.

Our live music made the evening for me. As an ex professional dancer, I wanted live music to bring the evening to life. So it was a real celebration and not just a cheesy playlist.

Both Top Shelf Live (Holly & Will) and SSJ Sexy Sunday Jams were next level musicians. Coming from the entertainment industry myself, both these groups are second to none and if you can get them, do!

The flowers by White Lane Events blew my away. These guys do signage and furniture packages as well. Very reasonably priced. Book them if you can. My mother was a florist, so I know quality and value when I see it ;) Kirsten, who’s business it is, is so lovely and organised. She makes you a beautiful mood board with stunning imagery. What she and her team did on the day was strait out of my dreams.

Our celebrant was Phoebe Riordan - @fullheartswithphoebe - Phoebe is a legend. She was wonderful, very in touch with creating language that is not old school and unappealing, especially as a woman re marriage. Eg. I now pronounce you, partners in marriage. As opposed to, man and wife. It is all very personal, however. She crafted the most beautiful and natural ceremony. I loved how we got to chose terms and statements that are more sensitive and modern. Highly recommend! Phoebe is gorgeous.

What would you say to couples who are on the fence about booking a videographer for their wedding?

Do it. There’s no comparison to Timothy’s work. What Tim does post shooting is so well done and polished. Video editing takes ages and so much goes into it. It really is worth it ;)

Words of wisdom for future couples looking to create an epic wedding/elopement experience?

Real wisdom is felt and known in the heart. Follow this, always be kind, and all will be well.
